Shamira Edwards

Registered Psychologist

Shamira is a registered psychologist with extensive experience in both clinical and organisational psychology.  She provides compassionate, evidenced-based care to individuals across the lifespan and has special interests in the management of anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, adjustment to life transitions, ADHD, relationship difficulties, and coping with health-related challenges.

Shamira is committed to helping her clients achieve the best outcomes and draws on a range of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). Shamira also incorporates mind-body principles and hypnotherapy where appropriate to support deeper insight and emotional regulation. Her solution-focused approach and warm, collaborative style encourage clients to explore patterns, build self-awareness and develop practical strategies for change.

Shamira works closely with GPs and other health professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care that promotes psychological growth and overall wellbeing.

Dr Cindy Cabeleira

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Cindy completed her Master of Psychology and PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Western Australia. Since 2014, she has held a number of clinical positions within the WA Department of Health and worked in private practice. 

She works with adults across the lifespan, from middle adolescence (age 16+) to older adulthood and undertakes general neuropsychological / clinical assessments (including diagnostic ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder assessments as well as those to assist with differentiating between and diagnosing various types of dementia and identifying cognitive deficits in various neurological and psychological/psychiatric conditions).  Additionally, she has experience performing decision-making capacity, fitness for work and other medicolegal assessments and has extensively worked with culturally diverse, and socially disadvantaged groups as well as those with various types of disabilities.

Areas of special interest include: dementia, epilepsy, brain injury, and decision-making capacity.

Dr Janette Brooks

MPsych PhD MAPS

Clinical Psychologist

Janette has over 20-years’ experience across hospital and community mental health services, as well as postgraduate psychology education and training. As the Principal Clinical Psychologist at Primary Care Psychology, Janette focuses on providing mental health support within the context of general medical practice. 

With a holistic approach she recognises the interconnectedness of physical and mental health and addresses both aspects of a patient's well-being. Her approach is warm, authentic, trauma-informed, and compassionate.

Janette supports people experiencing a diverse range of life circumstances, transitions and challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, eating disorders, perinatal mental health, menopause and helping patients make lifestyle changes related to chronic disease management.

Outside of work, Janette loves taking her dog for walks, going to Pilates with her daughter, reading books and drinking tea.
